Self portraits are one of the most enjoyable things to create in my mind. You have a live subject, they’re staying still, and they’re really weird looking (I find it weird to look at myself, like a caveman staring into a pool of water).

The other day I thought to myself — what do I want to draw? Kittens, houses, little children, still life, women that are have tentacles coming out of their back with green skin? Seeming how I don’t draw nearly as much as I used to: it’s nice to give myself a treat and draw whatever I want, regardless of how crass it is. Sadly my scanner broke, so this is actually a picture of the sketch taken with my 40d.
